Sarasota is a great place to head out after dark and look for some fun and interesting things to do. One of the things to do in Sarasota at night is take in the cool dining spots, excellent views of the sunset, and, if you’re up for it, dancing the night away at a drum circle on the beach. Nowhere in the world offers all of this in one city. Welcome to Sarasota, let’s get started.
Whatever you are looking to do at night, the arts are one thing people love to explore. Why not try a fancy night out at Sarasota Opera or look at Asolo Repertory Theater? A night out at the opera is always a treat. Asolo Repertory offers cultural shows with a diverse focus on giving creative voice to award-winning directors and shows.
One of the most popular spots to check out any time of day, but especially at night, is the Ringling Museum’s Art After 5. Head downtown the first Friday of each month for the Palm Avenue First Friday Walk starting at 6 p.m.
Of course, no visit to Sarasota is complete without a trip to the Siesta Key Drum Circle. This gathering features performing musicians playing on the beach every Sunday after sunset. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Most music continues after dark, ending when the fire dies down. Linger awhile after it ends for a walk on the beach or a meander home if staying nearby.
