Summer is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy some family fun. What isn’t more fun than a beach run? Kids can participate in a local event that encourages participation in healthy activities and gets them moving. Check out why the Kids Summer Beach Runs are the talk of the Suncoast.
What’s Happening
The annual Kids’ Summer Beach Runs come to Siesta and North Brohard beaches June through July each year. Kids and families can participate in one-mile fun runs that get the body and soul moving. Free to participants.
When It’s Happening
Scheduled runs around Sarasota include:
Tuesdays at 948 Beach Road, Siesta Key at Siesta Beach. June 7-July 26, 2022
Wednesdays at 1400 S. Harbor Drive, Venice at North Brohard Beach. June 1-July 27, 2022
As a reminder, no runs are scheduled for Tuesday, July 5 at Siesta Beach or Wednesday, July 6 at North Brohard Beach.
Sponsorships
The race is sponsored by several organizations including #SRQCountyParks, CoreSRQ, New Balance Sarasota, and Sarasota Crew. Includes partnership with Manasota Track Club to encourage kids to get outside and involved in healthy activities.
Participation
To register, stop by the playground at Siesta Beach and near Venice Fishing Pier at 5:30 pm. Runs begin at 6:30 pm at both locations. Runners receive a finisher ribbon and runners who go the distance with four runs receive a free T-shirt, a free kid’s meal coupon for Gecko’s Grill & Pub, and a 50% off coupon for kid’s New Balance shoes.
