The Butcher’s Block began building its reputation 48 years ago for incomparable steaks. Stan McGowan established the store when he came to Sarasota from Ohio in 1968. Stan has retired and now Scott McGowan has taken over ownership. The McGowan family have over five generations of experience and expertise in the meat business. We offer only premium beef from premier mid-western corn-fed stock. Each piece is naturally aged for 21-30 days, expertly cut, and hand trimmed.
